The inspiration for this website came to me after viewing the movie, "Saving Private Ryan".
Anyone who has seen this movie cannot easily forget the death scene of Medic Wade.

Canvas Pouch contents :

  • 6 X Vial, Hard Rubber, ½ Oz., Black (Modification: end of 1943, reduced to only 3 X Vials containing 16 X Tablet, Acetylsalicylic Acid (=Aspirine) (item #10100), and 36 X Pill, Compound, Cathartic (item #11505), the third Vial is used as a reserve component).
  • 1 X Container, Metal, N°1 (Modification: end of 1943, contents reduced to only 6 X Iodine Swabs, either still included in the Metal Container, or packed in the new cardboard box containing 6 X Iodine Swabs (item #91120).
  • 1 X Syringe, Hypodermic + 1 X Sterilizer, Hypodermic, Needle + all accessories (Modification: end of 1943, cancelled and replaced by 3 X Case with 5 X Tube, Morphine Tartrate, ½ Grain Solution (item #91155).
  • 1 X Set, Burn, Injury (item #91038) (Modification: early 1944, introduced).
  • 1 X Set, Eye, Dressing (item #91095) (Modification: early 1944, introduced).

  • 1 X Packet, Sulfanilamide (item #91211) with 5 X Paper. Envelopes, each containing 5 Grams Crystalline Sulfanilamide in Sterile, Individual, Double Wrapped Envelope with Shaker Top. (Modification: early 1944, introduced).
